Talking about the steps initiated in the State Cabinet Minister CP Singh informed that work has started to fulfill the commitments under the ambitious scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 25 this year. “We have estimated that about 17 lakh household in rural as well as urban area which has no power connection so far despite other schemes continuing, would be electrified by December 2018. The scheme is to ensure universal electrification of all willing households in the country in rural as well as urban areas with last mile connectivity. Connection to households includes release of electricity connections by drawing a service cable from the nearest electricity pole to the household premise, installation of energy meter, wiring for a single light point with LED bulb and a mobile charging point.
