Vivacity

Now, Khan as mentor

The star cast of Loveratri was in the capital for the launch of the trailer. By Team Viva

Salman Khan, the producer, is very different from Salman Khan, the actor. As the former, he is very involved, hands-on and keen with his  star cast. “I select the best scripts to my knowledge. And then let them make the choice. Also, I do not care about the expenses a project needs. A little bit of ups and downs do not matter when you really want to work on something. To save three-four crore, you can’t spoil the lives of youngsters and also, a film. We need to give our best,” said Khan.

The film Loveratri, set against the backdrop of Gujarat, has been in the news ever since its posters and photos were released. Produced by Khan and directed by Abhiraj Minawal, actors Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain make a debut as lead roles in the film.

Talking about his experiences and how he derived inspiration, Aayush at the trailer launch in the city, said, “I told Salman Bhai ‘I just learnt to act, you are already an established star’ but he said ‘Be confident  and work. Everything will be in place then’. Also, Salman Bhai advised me to just enjoy myself and since it was my first movie, to have a blast  when I was nervous on the first day of the shoot.” Salman laughed and added, “I need to follow the advice now.”

With Gujarat as the setting, the garba dance naturally can’t be far behind. Aayush told us about how they worked to learn the dance to fit in the role of a Gujarati boy in the film and eventually coming to terms with Warina.

He said, “We trained for around four-five months to learn garba. But it was really fun. The workshops helped us (Aayush and Warina) to know each other better and become good friends, which also made it easier to perform our characters. Since it was our first film, both of us were nervous. But eventually we became very good friends.”

Salman, who is set to begin the shooting for his new venture, Bharat, said that he is fine with Priyanka (Chopra) leaving the film. “After all, it’s her choice and I am happy for her. We have signed Katrina (Kaif) now,” he said.

The film, expected to bring in variant colours of love set in Gujarat and London, is slated to hit the screens on October 5.
