FROM TEAM EXOTICA

May all have the wanderlust!

Traditionally, in May, as the air turns warmer and nature awakens from its slumber, wanderlust whispers in the breeze, enticing restless souls to roam. It is a month where the world seems to bloom with possibility, beckoning adventurers to explore hidden corners and embrace the unknown. May invites us to wander through fields of wildflowers, to traverse winding paths beneath the canopy of trees, and to surrender to the call of distant horizons.

For in the month of May, the spirit of wanderlust is not merely a desire but a symphony of discovery, guiding us to new experiences and weaving tales of exploration beneath the azure sky. Mayday has long been celebrated as the real beginning of spring, marking the return of life after a cold and dark winter. Indeed, for a traveller, it is a month of bridge, away from winter but not yet into summer, somewhere in the middle, a journey of life not complete, yet captivating.

A bridge, a metaphor for connection and unity, stretches across the expanse, linking distant shores. Just as in life, a bridge may sway and falter, yet its imperfections only enhance its beauty. Through its flaws, we find strength and resilience, learning to navigate the challenges that come our way. Crossing this bridge of life requires courage and determination, but in the journey lies the true beauty and meaning of existence. So let us walk hand in hand across this bridge, embracing the unknown with open hearts. For in the crossing, we discover the power of connection and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.

Unfortunately, this May we are faced with the harshest heat in weather history the world over. Even as the scorching sun melts the coaltar on paved roads, all of us gravitate to cooler climes, desirous of a physical escape from nature’s ruthless glare.

We at Exotica, therefore, decided to extend the spring festivities of last month into May, hoping to relive the vibrant colours of spring that could turn this May gentler. So, walk with the tigers in Corbett or join an exotic safari in Kenya, relish the delicacies of Japan during its spring festival of Hanami, or the harvest festival of Burma’s Thingyan and the Wangala beats of its Garo equivalent or absorb the magic of World Dance Day, make the most of this May.
