BJP alleges JMM, govt ‘connivance’ in grabbing land illegally

Wednesday, 01 May 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo today attacked the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and state government alleging that ruling party and state government are working hand and hand in grabbing land illegally in State. Shahdeo addressing a press conference at BJP media centre at alleged that the documents filed in the PMLA court have made it clear that several people including JMM leader Antu Tirkey, Saddam Hussain, Afsar Ali have accepted that the fake documents of 8.86 acres of land of Hemant Soren were prepared by them. Pratul said that these accused have also admitted that they run a huge racket of transfer posting and land fraud. Pratul said that the land loot scam can be worth billions of rupees. The situation in Jharkhand has become such that it seems there is corruption on every branch, what will happen to Jharkhand as a result?

Pratul said that the WhatsApp chat between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha General Secretary Supriya Bhattacharya and Antu Tirkey has revealed shocking facts. It is clear from this chat that Antu Tirkey, who was involved in land racketeering, was lobbying Supriyo Bhattacharya to post Jitendra Munda, working as DCLR, Khunti, as District Land Acquisition Officer in Ranchi. It was also known that the file reached the CM House. Pratul said that how the things inside the CM House were leaked and why did Supriyo Bhattacharya not file an FIR when Antu Tirkey told this? Is this not a violation of the Official Secrets Act and confidentiality? Pratul said that it is clear from the documents that Antu Tirkey used to arrange transfer and posting of officers by taking commission. Pratul commented that  Jharkhand Mukti Morcha should also open a 'Transfer Posting Morcha' on the lines of Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha.

Pratul said that the information about the file reaching the brokers involved in the land grabbing  business shows that either the CMO was also involved or these brokers had influence even on the CMO. Pratul said that Supriya Bhattacharya had made many false statements defending  Hemant Soren. The latest rescue was when Rs 36 lakh was recovered from Hemant Soren's Delhi house. At that time Supriya Bhattacharya had said that this money has been planted by ED. Later, Hemant clarified in his petition in the High Court that he had received the money from the party fund for the treatment of his parents. Pratul said that now Supriyo Bhattacharya should leave his misrepresentations and tell the truth.

Pratul wanted to know from Chief Minister Champai Soren through the press conference, what is the relationship between his government, party and the people engaged in the racket of land brokers and transfer posting?

Co-media in-charge Ashok Badaik and Tariq Imran were also present in today's press conference.
