Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand. Ravi Kumar inspected various polling stations of Giridih Lok Sabha and Gandey Assembly constituencies on Sunday and took stock of the election preparations. He inspected polling station number 292 located at Middle School Ahilyapur, polling station number 298 located at Upgraded Middle School Putria, Gandey, polling station number 300 located at Upgraded Middle School Jaurasimar, Gandey and polling station number 305 located at Panchayat Secretariat, Jamjori. Talked to the BLOs working at the polling stations and got information about Booth Level Awareness Group (BAG), updating of Absent, Shifted and Dead (ASD) list and selection of volunteers. Also talked to the members of the polling station awareness group, volunteers and cooks present at the polling station and inquired about their responsibilities on the day of voting. The Chief Electoral Officer asked all the people present to motivate the voters for ethical voting.
He said that volunteers have been deployed at all polling stations to help senior and disabled voters. Polling station awareness group has been formed to promote ethical voting. He instructed everyone to remain alert and discharge their responsibilities with full sensitivity.
He also visited the polling station on the day of polling and inquired about the facilities being provided to the voters who are unable to vote and inquired about the process of voting from home. Apart from this, information was taken about minimum facilities like toilet, ramp etc. at the polling station.
During the inspection, Giridih District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra, Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Shrikant Vispute, Returning Officer 31 Gandey Ghulam Samdani, Deputy Election Officer Ranthu Mahato and other officials related to election work were present.
