HP Governor pays tribute to Dr Ambedkar

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday offered floral tributes to Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the Father of the Indian Constitution, on his birth anniversary at Ambedkar Chowk, Chaura Maidan. The Governor, in his message, said that besides being the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr Ambedkar worked seamlessly to ensure social justice for the people and dedicated his life to the betterment of the poor, the exploited, and the downtrodden. He underscored the importance of propagating Dr Ambedkar’s vision of equality, brotherhood, and unity, particularly in combating social discrimination.

 

Chandigarh MC Commissioner pays homage to fire brigade jawans

Chandigarh: To mark the Fire Services Day, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh on Sunday organized a programme at Fire Station, Sector 17, Chandigarh, observing ‘Fire Service Week’ from April 14 to 20, 2024, under the theme “Ensure Fire Safety, Contribute towards Nation Building”. MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra, Joint Commissioner-cum-Chief Fire Officer Isha Kamboj, and other Fire officers laid wreaths at the Martyrs’ Column, in Fire Station, Sector 17 and paid homage to fire brigade jawans. A two-minute silence was also observed in memory of all those firemen in the country who lost their lives while on duty. In her speech, the Commissioner applauded the bravery of fire personnel during the crisis, and said that a special campaign on fire safety would be organized in the city schools. “To give more emphasis on fire safety, mass awareness activities will also be organized by conducting fire safety drills in the schools,” she said.

 

HP Governor, CM felicitate people on Himachal Day

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday extended their congratulations to the people of the State on the occasion of the 77th Himachal Day. The Governor remarked that Himachal Pradesh, affectionately known as Dev Bhoomi, is endowed with immense natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage. He praised the simplicity and hard work of the people, acknowledging their contributions to the state’s development. He expressed hope that with the continued constructive support of the people, the state would continue to progress on the path of development. Sukhu, in his message, emphasized unity and resilience, urging the populace to embrace progress while preserving the state’s unique cultural heritage.

 

FSAI holds seminar and installation ceremony of Chandigarh Chapter

Chandigarh: Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI) organized a seminar and installation ceremony of the new core working committee of Chandigarh Chapter at Pharma Tech-2024, Parade Ground, Sector 17. The program was done in collaboration with Pharma Technology Index Private Limited, where Pharma Technology’s CEO Aarjav Shah gave the welcome address. Chandigarh Chapter caters to all north Indian states like Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, FSAI is a non-profit organization established in 2002 representing the Fire Protection, Life Safety, Security, Building Auto motion, Loss Prevention, risk management domains and women safety. It has chapters at 25 locations all over India.
