Based on the complaint, the Kerala Police started an investigation into the incident and came to know that Samuel returned to Odisha after committing the crime.

With help from the Kotgarh police, Kerala police conducted a raid at Samuel’s father-in-law’s house, where he was hiding. The accused was subsequently arrested. Further investigation into the incident was on.
