Wednesday, 08 May 2024 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi rallied a massive gathering of party supporters and followers in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, in support of Joba Manjhi, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Party candidate. Kalpana Soren, the JMM candidate from Gandey Assembly By-Poll, and other leaders were present at the event.

In his address, Rahul Gandhi launched scathing criticisms at the central government, characterizing it as a "government of billionaires." He emphasised the significance of the 2024 elections, calling attention to the aspirations and rights of tribal communities in Jharkhand.

Rahul Gandhi passionately advocated for the protection of tribal rights, asserting their ownership over water, forest, and land resources. He underscored the Congress's vision of empowering tribal communities by ensuring their participation in national development initiatives, with a focus on education and employment opportunities for tribal youth.

Rahul called the tribals the real owners of Jharkhand's land. He said that they have the first right on water, forest and land. Congress's dream is that the children of the tribal society should participate in the development of the country. Their children should become doctors, engineers, lawyers.

Taking aim at the BJP, Rahul Gandhi accused the party of exploiting natural resources at the expense of local communities. He pledged to deposit Rs 1 lakh annually into the accounts of poor women and vowed to abolish the 50% limit on reservations once the Congress government is formed.

Highlighting the adverse impacts of demonetization and rising unemployment, Rahul Gandhi advocated for the doubling of salaries for Anganwadi and Asha workers. He condemned the central government's actions, labeling it as dictatorial for incarcerating Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren ahead of the elections.

Rahul targeted the PM that the poor have suffered a lot due to demonetization. Today the youth of the country are facing the problem of unemployment. Talked about doubling the salary of Anganwadi-Asha workers. Kalpana raised slogans in favor of Hemant

Kalpana Soren called the central government dictatorial and said that it had sent Hemant Soren to jail just before the elections. Kalpana appealed to the people to vote for India Alliance candidate Joba Manjhi.

Kalpana Soren echoed Rahul Gandhi's sentiments, urging voters to support Joba Manjhi, the India Alliance candidate, and emphasizing the importance of safeguarding democratic principles and tribal rights in the electoral process.

The rally in Chaibasa served as a platform for rallying support for the JMM Party candidate and rallying against what Rahul Gandhi perceives as injustices perpetuated by the central government. CM Champai Soren, Health Minister Banna Gupta were also present on the occasion.
