Two minors from Ujjain drown in swimming pool of marriage garden

Two minors includinga girl drowned in the swimming pool of the Swagat Marriage Garden of Kohefiza area; boy died while girl is on ventilator; the family came to Bhopal from Ujjain for a marriage.

Police said that 5 year old Kamil died due to drowning in the swimming pool.

Cousin brothers and sisters drowned in the swimming pool in Swagat Marriage Garden of Kohefiza area in Bhopal.

A five-year-old boy died while  7-year-old girl is on ventilator. Doctors said that his condition is very serious. The incident occurred at 9 pm on Friday night.

Both the children had come to Bhopal from Ujjain in a wedding procession. The wedding procession was held at the Swagat Marriage Garden located on Janwasa Airport Road. The wedding program was in Gulshan Garden. The family was getting ready for the wedding procession when the children went towards the swimming pool.

ASI Shobharam Verma told that when the wedding procession was ready to leave, both of them were searched, then someone told that the children were in the swimming pool. When the family members came running, both were found drowned in the pool.

Both were taken to the hospital, by which time Kamil had died. Kamil's father Mustaqeem was a resident of Dauskhana (Ujjain). Baby Lisa is the daughter of her maternal uncle Mohammad Sadiq, resident of Shajapur.

The child's maternal grandfather Mohammad Firoz told that the reason for the accident was the negligence of the Swagat Marriage Garden owners. The swimming pool was full. There was not even a boundary wall. It was dark on the side of the pool. There was no arrangement for even a guard there.

 Father works in an auto deal. Was in Chennai at the time of the accident. Kamil has a younger brother named Taha. His mother is in bad condition after the accident. He had come to the wedding procession with his mother.

Kohefija police station in-charge Brijendra Marskole said that according to the building permission of the Municipal Corporation, the pool is not approved separately, rather it is shown in the map of the building permission.

Marriage Garden operator Ravi Bhurani said that no permission is required to operate swimming pools up to 4 feet. Our pool is only 3 feet. There are railings around. There was no marriage at our place. 12 rooms were given only for public.
