Even though the Commissionerate police have busted some gangs involved in burglaries in the apartment in the capital city, the miscreants are striking again at will, spreading fear among the residents.
In the latest incident, in the wee hours of Friday, burglars broke into an apartment in the Raghunathpur area and looted gold ornaments worth around Rs 10 lakh.
In another incident reported from the Pahala area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, robbers also looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from the house of one Sarat Mohanty by locking him in one of the rooms from outside.
Mohanty also expressed concern that had it been an armed dacoity, his entire family would have been at risk.
Earlier on April 9, a gang of burglars allegedly looted valuables worth lakhs of rupees from as many as four flats in a single apartment at Metro Satellite City under the Pahala police station.
As per reports, as many as 34 flats in 14 apartments in Bhubaneswar have been burgled in the last six months.
