Two youths died after a truck hit a tractor-trolley in Vidisha waiting outside for selling their crop at warehouse, accident occurred late in the night on Sunday
In the incident 6 farmers got trapped under the trolley who were pulled out with the help of JCB. Two of these farmers died. Both were real brothers.
The incident took place on Sagar-Vidisha Highway at around 3.30 am on Monday. Farmers had come near Sanskar Warehouse to sell grains. There were queues of tractor-trolleys on the side of the highway here. During this time this accident happened.
All the injured were taken to Vidisha Hospital. Doctors declared Ravi Kurmi (19) and Krishnakant Kurmi (17) dead . The condition of 4 injured is critical. The truck driver and cleaner fled from the spot.
These days, procurement of grains is going on at support price at Sanskar Warehouse located near Bagru intersection. The trolleys that arrived till 6 pm on Sunday evening were given entry inside the warehouse campus. After this, the trolleys were standing on the side of the highway due to lack of entry.
The speeding truck coming from Sagar first hit the trolley parked on the roadside and then hit other vehicles. Two tractors and a pickup vehicle were badly damaged.
After the accident angry farmers blocked the highway. They agreed only after the administration's advice and assurance of appropriate action.
As soon as information about the accident was received, SDM Vijay Rao, SDOP Manoj Kumar Mishra reached the spot. Angry farmers blocked the highway. After the police explained, after about 20 minutes the farmers got up from the road and the jam was cleared. A similar accident had happened last year near Bagru intersection, when a truck driver and a farmer had died.
Farmers told that at around 3 in the night a truck came from Sagar side. There was a line of trolleys on the road here. The truck first hit the trolley, due to which the sail got torn. The lentils kept in it got scattered.
After that he hit our tractor. Two children were sitting in the trolley, both of them jumped and fell and one son's legs were fractured. One has suffered minor injuries. After that, another tractor and pickup collided and two died on the spot.
