Bokaro: In a significant move aimed at addressing the concerns of parents regarding arbitrary practices in private schools, the Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro Vijaya Jadhav has established a district-level investigation committee. Mahendra Rai, the District President of Jharkhand Parents Association, expressed his delight at the formation of the committee and extended gratitude to the DC Bokaro for understanding the plight of parents and initiating measures to provide relief.

Rai highlighted that the Jharkhand Parents Association has been consistently advocating for the implementation of the Jharkhand Education Act 2017, which was enforced statewide in 2019 but was yet to be implemented in Bokaro district. To press for this demand, the association organized protests from schools to the district administrative headquarters.

After four years, under the directives of Bokaro District Magistrate Vijaya Jadhav Rai, a district-level investigation committee has been constituted, with the inclusion of two parent representatives.

Expressing his commitment upon being appointed as a member, Mahendra Rai stated, "I will ensure that the problems of parents are addressed at the district level and steps are taken to curb arbitrary practices in schools. Measures such as annual textbook changes, restrictions on new publications, and limitations on fee hikes will be implemented. Teaching through NCERT books will be encouraged to prevent arbitrary reliance on private publications."

Further Rai stated that in this four-year-long campaign, I extend my gratitude to all the journalists of Bokaro who have amplified the voices of parents through their newspapers and electronic media, reaching from the district administration to the highest authorities.
