Thunderstorms, rains witnessed in the State capital

After a pleasant morning, hot and humid conditions were followed by thundery activities and rainfall in the state capital on Friday.

The weather patterns changed in Madhya Pradesh on Friday also. It started raining with strong winds in Indore, Dewas, Ujjain, Ratlam and Guna in the afternoon. In some districts it has been cloudy since morning along with drizzle.

For the last 5-6 days, rain and hail have been continuing in different areas of the state. Due to this, a drop in day as well as night temperature has been recorded. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 25 districts of the state. Storm, rain and hailstorm may continue for the next 3 days.

The weather suddenly changed in Indore on Friday evening. It started raining here along with strong winds. Hail also fell along with it. Gram-sized hailstones fell in Shipra on Indore-Dewas bypass. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of storm, rain and hail in the district for the next three days.

Earlier in the morning the weather remained clear in Indore. As the day progressed, the scorching heat troubled people. It became cloudy in the evening and it started raining. There was a possibility of light rain even during the night.

Senior officials said, 'Right now due to western disturbance, cyclonic circulation and passing trough line, a strong system of rain and hail is active. Due to this it is raining in the state. Another western disturbance is becoming active. Its effect will also be seen in the state.

Met has issued warning of thunderstorm and gusty winds in districts of Rewa, Shahdol divisions, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, Morena, Narasinghpur, Mandla, Neemuch, Panna, Ujjain, Ratlam, Sehore, Shajapur, Sheopur Kalan, Harda, Chhatarpur, Bhopal, Damoh, Barwani, Dewas, Ashoknagar, Indore, Jabalpur, Katni, Khargone districts.

Warning of hailstorm, thunderstorm and gusty winds has been issued for districts of Vidisha, Balaghat, Singroli, Betul, Burhanpur, Seoni, Chhindwara, Sagar, Guna, Raisen,  Narmadapuram, Khandwa.

Several parts of the state witnessed abrupt changes as hail was accompanied by heavy rainfall in Indore on Friday evening.

In Dewas too, a hailstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall  on Friday evening.

It started raining heavily in Ujjain on Friday afternoon.

There was heavy rain in Ratlam on Friday afternoon. Due to this the roads became drenched.

It was cloudy in Guna on Friday morning. It started raining lightly in the afternoon. Many farmers had come to Nanakhedi agricultural produce market to sell their crops. To protect the produce from rain, they were seen covering it with tarpaulin.

Earlier, there was heavy rain with thunder and lightning in Bhopal late Thursday night. Water also fell in many districts including Ratlam, Sagar, Chhindwara, Ujjain, Vidisha. Hail also fell in Guna and Ratlam. Two youths died due to lightning in Damoh and Alirajpur.
