Tuesday, 09 April 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) has introduced the Scholars for Glance initiative this year. The aim is to provide parents with easy access to information related to their children's courses, the university vice chancellor Onkar Singh said while addressing the media here on Monday.

He said that with this initiative the parents can access the university website with their child's roll number and date of birth to view the marks, courses and other important details. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide parents with easy access to information about their children's performance, he added.

Informing about the registration process for the upcoming academic session 2024-25, he said, “Candidates interested in taking admission in engineering, pharmacy, management, hotel management and law courses affiliated to the university can do their provisional registration on the university's website from April 10. The candidates who register on the university portal from April 10 will receive complete information about the registration process to participate in the online counselling admission process, which will be conducted by the university in June, through SMS on their registered mobile phone number and email.”

He further added that in the academic session 2024-25, BTech online counselling will be done on the basis of merit of minimum educational qualification along with JEE-mains rank holders, like last year. In other courses, online counselling will be done only on the basis of the merit of interested candidates having minimum educational qualifications, he said. Singh also informed that the university has introduced new courses, including cyber security, information technology and artificial intelligence. Earlier, students enrolled more in computer science courses, but it is expected that more students will enroll in the said courses this year. He stated that new courses would soon be offered and teachers with expertise in the field would be appointed to teach these courses.
