DLSA urges homeless people to stay in shelter homes
On the directions of Justice-cum-Executive Chairman, Jhalsa Sujit Narayan Prasad and under the guidance of Justice Commissioner, Ranchi Diwakar Pandey, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, in view of the increasing cold, launched a campaign for the poor people shivering in the cold and requested the people sleeping under the open sky to spend the night in the shelter home run by the corporation.
During this time, DLSA Secretary and his team, which included Deputy LADC, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, PLV Vicky Chaudhary and assistant Manikant Sinha from the Municipal Corporation, visited various areas of the city from 10.30 pm to 12.30 pm and inspected the shelter homes run by the corporation.
During the inspection, the DLSA Secretary team found that the cleanliness of the bathrooms was not good while inspecting the shelter home located at Khadgarha Bus Stand. After this, he instructed the in-charge of the shelter home to clean the bathroom immediately and said that this campaign will continue on the instructions of the Jhalsa and he asked the in-charge of the shelter home present to pay special attention to protection from cold and cleanliness.
Apart from this, posters should be put up at various places for awareness and contact numbers should also be given in them, so that people do not face any problem in reaching the shelter home. Under this campaign, 5 poor people sleeping under the open sky on the main road were rescued and admitted to the shelter home located at Bakri Bazar and 15 helpless people sleeping under the open sky around Khadgarha bus stand were admitted to the men and women shelter home located at Khadgarha bus stand and blankets were also distributed among them.
Apart from this, the employees of the corporation were requested to make proper arrangements to keep the passersby by putting up tents where there are no shelter homes.
It should be known that the list of all the shelter homes run by the corporation has been sought from the corporation. Under the campaign to protect from cold, people sleeping under the sky in all areas will be admitted to the shelter home of that area. Apart from this, relief material and blankets will be distributed to the needy on the instructions of Jhalasa.
It should also be known that the Dalsa Secretary has also asked all the working PLVs to identify the poor and helpless people due to increasing cold in their area and provide them relief with the help of the district administration.
