Claude AI Down: Users Report Access Issues Across App and Website

Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude experienced a major service disruption on Tuesday, with users reporting widespread access issues across its app, website, and chatbot services. The company confirmed elevated error rates affecting multiple Claude platforms and said engineers were actively working on a fix.
The outage first became noticeable when users encountered failed responses, slow loading times, and intermittent service interruptions. Reports soon surged on outage-tracking platforms, with over 200 complaints logged in India alone. A large share of users said they were unable to access Claude Chat, while others reported issues with the mobile app and web interface.
Users also took to social media platform X to highlight the disruption, sharing screenshots of error messages such as “Claude is unable to respond to your message due to unexpected constraints.” The issue impacted several key services, including Claude AI, Claude Console, Claude API, and Claude Code tools.
Anthropic later acknowledged the disruption on its official status page, stating that the problem had been identified and a fix was being implemented. The company added that investigations were ongoing to determine the root cause of the outage.
