Drug addict man kills father, injures mother in UP's Balrampur
A 28-year-old man allegedly beat his father to death with sticks and grievously injured his mother following an argument at their home in Balrampur district, police said on Sunday, July 26.
According to police, the incident took place in Tulsipur town on Saturday, July 25, night, when the accused, Pintu, who is allegedly addicted to substances, got into an argument with his mother, Phoolwati (55), while under the influence.
Police said Pintu allegedly attacked his mother with sticks. When his father, Kallu (60), intervened to stop the assault, the accused allegedly turned on him and beat him with sticks.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and took both Kallu and Phoolwati to a hospital, where doctors declared Kallu dead.
Tulsipur Station House Officer Sudhir Singh said the accused has been arrested, and that further legal proceedings are underway.
