Social media explodes with memes as Pradhan resigns

The internet exploded with memes after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister. Social media users flooded X, Instagram and Facebook with jokes, reactions, and viral posts, with many celebrating the resignation as a step towards accountability and victory of the CJP movement.
The moment quickly became one of the biggest online talking points across the country. On the other hand, netizens also came in support of the minister, questioning the credibility of the protests.
As one user wrote, “Cockroaches won... Democracy won! Jai Hind”, and several others wrote similar posts expressing their happiness. Calling it a defeat of the Government, as a user posted, In the face of the youth’s struggle, the dictatorship had to bow down.”
Netizens were now calling for the resignation of Nitin Gadkari, following the ethanol controversy, as a user posted, “Nitin Gadkari, we are coming for your resignation next.” Users on social media platforms also criticised Pradhan’s resignation, as one user wrote, “This is unfortunate, Dharmendra Pradhan Ji. You shouldn’t have resigned under pressure from some cockroaches...” Netizens also applauded his tenure as education minister, particularly his contributions to changes in the country’s education system. Later, the Cockroach Janta Party met with the Centre for another round of talks and announced that all their demands have been accepted by the Government and urged protestors to go back home as they withdraw the agitation in goodwill.
Netizens celebrated the withdrawal, viewing it as a victory for students and Gen Z, as many called it a defeat of the Modi Government and a drive towards change, as one user wrote: “Well done, guys... cheers to better education for all...” Yet, users also called out the CJP leadership, stating that the demands are not enough and that the protest should have continued until more reforms could be made.
