The Pioneer launches Keralam edition

The Pioneer marked a significant milestone in its journey with the launch of its Keralam edition at a function held at the Hycinth Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday evening, reaffirming the newspaper’s commitment to credible, independent and impactful journalism in the State.
The Keralam Edition was formally inaugurated and released by Chief Minister VD Satheesan, who delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the vital role of a free, responsible and people-centric media in strengthening democracy.
“This is a time when we cannot say anything new,” he said. “What we say is being twisted. We have to think very seriously about how it will affect society. But if we are convinced that what we do is right, then no matter what controversy comes up, the Government should go ahead and do it courageously. “The beauty of democracy is in discussion. We need to have positive discussions about the state, about the next generation, and about children. The media has a huge role to play in that,” Satheesan added.
The inaugural copy of the edition was received by Deputy Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Shanimol Usman.
Welcoming the gathering, J Gopikrishnan, Associated Editor of The Pioneer, New Delhi, outlined the newspaper’s editorial vision and its commitment to delivering accurate, balanced and public-interest journalism to readers in Kerala.
Presiding over the function, Bandi Sudhakar Goud, Managing Director and Editor of The Pioneer Keralam edition, described the launch in the Capital city as an important step in the publication’s expansion and reaffirmed its commitment to journalistic excellence, editorial independence and credible reporting.
Ramesh Chennithala, Minister for Home Affairs, Government of Kerala, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour and addressed the gathering. He appreciated The Pioneer’s decision to launch its Keralam edition. He recalled that The Pioneer carried out several turbulent stories in the country. He also recalled his decades-long friendship with Sudhakar Goud from the time when both of them were Youth Congress leaders. He wished the Pioneer to be a strong presence in the Kerala media landscape. He noted that it is only the print media that is willing to correct itself, whereas the visuals don’t correct wrong news. Congress Media and Publicity Chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Pawan Khera graced the occasion.
In his felicitation address, Prashant Tewari, Chairman & Managing Director of The Pioneer group of newspapers and magazines, New Delhi, congratulated the team on the launch of the Keralam Edition and conveyed his best wishes for its success, expressing confidence that the new edition would uphold The Pioneer’s legacy of credible, independent and impactful journalism.
