As many as 1,500 disabled people participated in a free artificial limb measurement camp organised in Raipur on Sunday by the Narayan Seva Sansthan.
Home Minister Vijay Sharma inaugurated the camp.
Praising the organisation, Sharma said that not only do they provide free operations and artificial limbs, they also arrange food for 5,000 people every day.
Their free school, Narayan Children Academy, provides quality education to the children of 600 economically challenged labour families, he said.
A total of 150 members of the organisation helped to measure 530 people for fitting the artificial limb and 250 people for fitting callipers.
They also selected over 100 disabled people for surgery. They will be taken to Udaipur for free operations.
About two to three months later, the organisation will conduct a free fitting camp as well.
Established in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has provided over 41,000 artificial limbs.
