Team inspects strong room for Lok Sabha election preparedness

Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal undertook an inspection at the Cooperative College to assess the readiness for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of 2024. The visit aimed to ensure adherence to Election Commission guidelines and the efficient functioning of the electoral process.

During the inspection, Mittal meticulously reviewed various aspects essential for the smooth conduct of elections. These included assessing the arrangements at the dispatch center, election material management, and the setup of designated strong rooms and counting rooms for the polling party.

Special attention was paid to critical areas such as the counting room, the entry protocol for party agents, and the secure depositing of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the designated strong rooms after voting. Additionally, discussions were held with senior officials to iron out any logistical challenges and ensure seamless arrangements for the electoral process.

It was decided that Cooperative College would serve as the dispatch center for Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, and Jugsalai assembly constituencies, while LBSM College, Karandih, would cater to the Potka, Ghatsila, and Baharagora polling parties. Furthermore, Cooperative College was designated as the receiving center for all assembly constituencies, with plans for the counting of votes and the setup of strong rooms within its premises.

The Deputy Commissioner  emphasized the importance of adhering to Election Commission norms both in letter and spirit. He directed concerned officials to ensure smooth transportation of EVM machines and reviewed security arrangements to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

The inspection witnessed the presence of key officials including the Sub Divisional Officer, Additional District Magistrate, Deputy Election Officer, District Public Relations Officer, and other personnel, signifying the collective effort towards ensuring a fair and transparent election process.

The inspection conducted by Mittal at Cooperative College underscores the administration's commitment to conducting Lok Sabha Elections with utmost efficiency and adherence to electoral protocols. The directives issued during the visit are expected to contribute to the seamless execution of the electoral process in the Jamshedpur region.

Arms holders asked for weapon verification

Jamshedpur

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, has issued directives for the verification of weapons belonging to all arms license holders in the district. The initiative aims to ensure a peaceful and fair conduct of the Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the importance of maintaining transparency and security during the electoral process.

In accordance with the instructions from Mittal, a comprehensive verification process for all arms license holders has been scheduled at the police station level. This measure seeks to ascertain the authenticity and legality of weapons owned by individuals within the district boundaries, fostering an environment conducive to independent and fair elections.

All arms license holders residing in East Singhbhum district are required to present their licensed weapons for verification at their respective police stations from March 28th to March 30th, 2024. It is imperative that individuals comply with this directive to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

Additionally, individuals holding arms licenses issued from other states or districts but currently residing in East Singhbhum district are also urged to participate in the verification process. Failure to comply with the stipulated verification dates may result in the confiscation of weapons by the magistrate or law enforcement officials, with subsequent legal actions taken in accordance with established regulations.
