Form 12 and Form 12D received for postal ballot in the context of inter-district transfer for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 were transferred to the respective Lok Sabha constituencies today. In the exchange center set up in the Chief Electoral Office, officials related to election work from all the districts / constituencies of the state reached with Form 12 and 12D received in their respective districts and made the forms available to the other districts concerned. Representatives of political parties were also present during the exchange.

Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar said that to ensure that not a single voter is left out from voting, the Election Commission of India has made arrangements for voting by postal ballot. The exchange facility of Form 12 and 12D received for voting by postal ballot will facilitate service voters and voters of essential services to vote.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora said that Form 12 is for service voters working on election duty. At the same time, Form 12D is for absentee voters, absentee voters with physical disabilities, absentee voters senior citizens and absentee voters essential services, who can participate in the process of voting through postal ballot. The mentioned voters who have submitted their forms are being sent to another Lok Sabha constituency under the exchange facility, so that they can exercise their franchise.

It is known that in the context of inter-district transfer for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, an exchange program is being run in relation to the transfer of Form 12 and Form 12D received for postal ballot, exchange of issued post ballot and polled postal ballot and others. Under this, postal ballot exchange facility will also be made available on 30 April. Also, the dates for providing an exchange facility in the Chief Electoral Office have been fixed on 4th May, 7th May, 11th May, 15th May, 19th May, 24th May, 28th May and 31st May.
