The Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested two persons over their role in leaking the paper of review officer (RO) and assistant review officer (ARO) examination held by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC).
The exam was held on February 11 across the state.
The state government on March 2 cancelled the exam following reports that the exam papers were leaked on a massive scale.
Disclosing this here on Friday, DGP Prashant Kumar said, “One Arun Kumar Singh and Saurabh Shukla, both natives of Pratapgarh, were arrested on Thursday in connection with the paper leak.”
Both were called to the STF headquarters where they were put under arrest after questioning.
According to Kumar, the duo got the copy of the paper from another ‘mastermind’ on their phone a day before the exam. The duo then forwarded the paper to others and charged money for the same.
Meanwhile ADG (STF) Amitabh Yash, who was also present in the press conference, claimed that further investigations in the case were underway.
The names of the arrested accused will be added to the FIR registered in Kaushambi district regarding the paper leak, he added.
The ADG (said FIR was lodged under the Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating by inducement), 467 (forgery of valuable documents), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document).
