Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale announced on Monday that voter buddies will be deployed at all polling centres to aid disabled and elderly voters.

She said this in a meeting with representatives of political parties in Raipur.

She briefed them about the Model Code of Conduct, election expenditure guidelines, campaigning guidelines, and more.

A voter support centre will be set up at each polling station. All polling stations have ensured basic facilities like ramps, drinking water, electric lighting, toilets and more, she said.

Chhattisgarh will see balloting on April 19 and 26, and May 7, and the results will be announced nationally on June 4.
