India rebukes Pakistan at UN, reaffirms Jammu & Kashmir as integral part of our Nation

India strongly rebuked Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), accusing Islamabad of repeatedly misusing international platforms to advance its political agenda on Jammu and Kashmir. Responding to Pakistan’s remarks during the UN session, the Indian delegation reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir “was, is and will always remain” an integral and inalienable part of India.
New Delhi said Pakistan’s attempts to internationalise the Kashmir issue were unacceptable and reflected a continued effort to misuse global forums for political purposes. Indian representatives emphasized that the status of Jammu and Kashmir is a sovereign matter and rejected any external interference or commentary on the issue.
The statement is in line with India's long-standing position that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of the country. In recent weeks, India has also objected to references to Jammu and Kashmir in international statements involving Pakistan, reiterating that no third party has any locus standi on matters concerning the region.
The latest exchange highlights continuing diplomatic tensions between the two neighbours, with Kashmir remaining a recurring point of contention in international forums. India has consistently maintained that issues related to Jammu and Kashmir are internal matters and should be addressed bilaterally, while opposing Pakistan’s efforts to raise the issue at multilateral platforms.
