Body of missing teenager found in canal

The body of a youth missing for some days from Roorkee was recovered on Friday from Mohammadpur Jhal in Gangnahar in Manglaur Kotwali area. The police reached the site and sent the body recovered from the canal for post mortem examination.  At the same time, the police have also started an investigation into the matter.

According to the information, 17-year-old Vansh, a resident of Adarsh Nagar Colony of Roorkee Civil Line Kotwali area, had left his home on September 11 at around 11:30 AM, after which he did not return home.  His family members searched him at all possible places but were unable to find any trace of the missing teen. Following a complaint, the police were also searching for him. A body was found in the Ganga canal on Friday which was identified as that of the missing youngster. Civil Lines Kotwali in-charge Devendra Singh Chauhan said that the matter is being investigated and that the cause of death will be known after the post mortem.
