6th Phase of election: 22 candidates' candidature cancelled in scrutiny

Chief Election Officer, Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar today said that nomination papers of 22 candidates have been cancelled in the scrutiny of nominations filed for the sixth phase of election. Maximum 7 candidates' nomination papers have been cancelled from Giridih parliamentary constituency. Now a total of 18 candidates are left in the fray here. Three candidates' nomination papers have been cancelled from Dhanbad parliamentary constituency. Now a total of 25 candidates are left here.

Six candidates' nomination papers have been rejected from Ranchi parliamentary constituency. Now 27 candidates are in the fray from here. At the same time, 6 people's nomination papers have also been cancelled from Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency. Now 26 candidates are left here. The last date for withdrawal of nomination in this phase is 9th May. On the first day of nomination in the seventh phase of elections, a total of three candidates have filed their nomination papers. Out of them, one nomination has been filed from Rajmahal (reserved for Scheduled Tribes) parliamentary constituency.

Two people have filed nomination papers from Godda parliamentary constituency, whereas, not a single nomination was filed from Dumka (reserved for Scheduled Tribes) parliamentary constituency on the first day.

After the notification of elections was issued, the seizure of goods and cash in Jharkhand has crossed one billion and has reached 1 billion 10 crore 36 lakhs.

Meanwhile, the CEO Jharkhand is constantly giving guidelines to increase the voting percentage at booths with low voting percentage, while also monitoring the implementation of the instructions by inspecting various booths. Under the same, he inspected two polling stations in the Bundu block area of Ranchi district on Tuesday. He thoroughly investigated the distribution of voter information slips, distribution of voter guide and updating of Absent, Shift, Death (ASD) list by BLO to increase the voting percentage. Expressing displeasure over the laxity in the above work, the Chief Election Officer said that if any voter complains of difficulty in exercising his/her franchise due to the negligence of the concerned officer, strict action will be taken.

A calendar has been fixed for all the districts to ensure that all the election related works are completed on time. Whoever has responsibility wherever, they have to complete them by the stipulated time. He directed to speed up the preparations for the election work.

Also, he warned the concerned officials of action in case of laxity. He directed to speed up the distribution of voter guide and voter information slip and ensure 100% distribution. Also, he directed to complete the incomplete list of ASD soon. He also reviewed the list related to the volunteers to be appointed for the assistance of the voters and the list of polling station awareness groups and directed them to complete it. He inspected polling station number 69 of the Government Primary School Block Colony of Bundu and polling station number 72 of Rajendra Ashram Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya.
