BJP releases list of 40 star campaigners

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva released the list of the 40 star campaigners for the party in the national Capital on Monday which includes names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president JP Nadda along with other heavy weights ahead of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections slated to be held on May 25.

Notably, cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who recently parted his ways from the BJP, citing that he wanted to focus on his commitments, is also included in the party's list of star campaigners. Arvinder Singh Lovely, who recently left the Congress and joined BJP, will also campaign for the party.

BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda will also hold road shows and rallies in the city to strengthen the saffron party’s prospects in the city. Several Union Ministers including Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Hardeep Singh Puri, Smriti Irani and Arjun Ram Meghwal are also included in the list of star campaigners.

Further, Chief Ministers of various states will also be taking part in the processions and campaigns by BJP. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma are also included in the list.

By naming a diverse group of campaigners, the BJP aimed to leverage the popularity and influence of these leaders to bolster its electoral prospects in Delhi. Each campaigner brings unique strengths and appeal, contributing to the party's outreach efforts in the region. With a mix of national and regional figures, the BJP's campaign strategy aims to resonate with voters on various fronts, addressing local issues while also highlighting the party's national agenda under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

The list encompasses various senior BJP leaders as part of the campaign in Delhi where AAP and Congress have come together under the INDIA alliance to present a joint opposition against the saffron party. Deputy Chief Ministers of various states are also included in the list shared to the EC. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary have also made their names in the list.Along with that, Rajya Sabha MP Arun Singh, Punjab BJP leader and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, Rajya Sabha MP and National General Secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Delhi elections in-charge Om Prakash Dhankar, National Secretary and Delhi's Deputy in-charge Dr Alka Gurjar, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, National Chief Spokesperson Anil Baluni and party Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva are also included in the list of star campaigners.

MP Hema Malini, Tamil Nadu’s BJP President K. Annamalai, former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and former MoS Vijay Goel are also the star campaigners. Further, two time MP Manoj Tiwari, Harsh Vardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi, Parvesh Verma and Gautam Gambhir, BJP candidate for South Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri, Delhi MLA Vijender Gupta and Vice Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council Satish Upadhyay.
