Inclement weather witnessed in State capital on the second day

Heavy rain lashed several parts of the State capitalwhich was accompained with storm; alert for hail has been issued till April 11, there will be more impact tomorrow.

There was heavy rain in Bhopal on Monday afternoon. There was also a strong storm in Kolar area. The city remained cloudy since morning. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain with thunderstorm in the next few hours. Earlier on Sunday too, after sunshine and drizzle throughout the day, there was heavy rain in the evening.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain along with hail in Bhopal till April 11. The impact will be greater on April 9. The weather has changed in the state due to moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Its effect is visible in Bhopal also.

On Tuesday  impact of weather will be greater. There is also a possibility of rain and hailstorm at some places.

Thunderstorm conditions will persist. There will also be drizzle on Wednesday.

Thursday is likely to witness cloudy conditions and there may be rain in some areas.

There is a trend of intense heat and rain in Bhopal in the month of April. In the last 10 years, the temperature has crossed 42 to 43 degrees, while there has been rainfall in 7 out of 10 years between 2014 and 2023.

Hail, rain and strong wind have started again in Madhya Pradesh. The weather changed after 3 pm in Sagar and Narmadapuram. Hail along with rain has fallen in the surrounding areas including Chhindwara, Singrauli, Gaurjhamar of Sagar, Deori and Bankhedi of Narmadapuram.

At the same time, it was cloudy in Bhopal since morning. It rained in the afternoon. It has also rained in Raisen, Sehore and Vidisha.

According to Senior Scientist of IMD Bhopal, light rain will continue in the entire state for the next four days till April 11. For the first time in April, there is activity of a strong system due to cyclonic circulation and western disturbance. Due to this, there will be conditions of storm, rain, hail and lightning. Moisture is also coming from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea.

The Meteorological Department has also predicted lightning and hailstorm in Bhopal, Sehore, Betul, Raisen's Sanchi and Bhimbetka, Sagar, Damoh, Mandla, Seoni, Katni, Maihar and Sidhi in the next few hours. Here the storm can blow at a speed of 55 km per hour. There may be rain in Singrauli, Umaria and Narmadapuram during the evening. There is a possibility of light thunder and lightning in Shajapur, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Dindori, Satna, Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Anuppur and Panna districts.

There has been rainfall for 7 years between 2014 and 2023. There was no rain in the years 2016, 2017 and 2022, whereas last year 22.6 mm i.e. more than a quarter inch of water had fallen.
