Lohardaga ready for Lok Sabha election: DC, SP

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Krishna and SP Haris Bin Zaman addressed the representatives of print and electronic media on Thursday. He said that the notification for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 has been issued today on 18 April 2024 by the Election Commission of India, New Delhi. 

Enrollment has started with the notification. Parliamentary constituency 12-Lohardaga (ST) includes parts of 72-Lohardaga assembly constituency and 69-Bishunpur assembly constituency of the district. Parliamentary Constituency 12- Lohardaga (SC) Nomination for Lok Sabha General Election 2024 Interested Scheduled Tribe candidates can file nomination in Gumla. 12- Lohardaga (SC) Last date of nomination for parliamentary election is 24 April 2024, nomination The date of scrutiny is 26 April 2024, the last date for withdrawal of nominations is 29 April 2024, the date of voting is 13 May 2024 and the date of counting is 04 June 2024. 

The DEO said that the total number of voters in 72-Lohardaga assembly constituency in Lohardaga district is 283184, of which men are 140316 and women are 142868 and in Vishunpur (Ansh) are 85974, of which men are 42974 and women are 42998. There are a total of 324 polling stations in the district, 72- Lohardaga assembly constituency and 104 polling stations in 69- Vishunpur assembly constituency. A total of 428 polling stations have been set up in the district. There are a total of 240 polling station buildings in 72-Lohardaga assembly constituency and 84 polling station buildings in 69-Vishunpur assembly constituency. A total of 324 polling station buildings have been built in the district. DEO Dr. Waghmare Prasad said that the first readmission of EVMs and VVPATs was done on April 15 in the presence of all political parties. A total of 375 ballot units including safe and 375 control units and a total of 417 VV PET units including safe have been allotted to the polling stations. The second re-registration of EVMs and VVPATs will be done on May 1-10 in the presence of all political parties. Copies of the authorized ballot unit and control unit and VVPAT were handed over to the representatives of all the political parties present. The General Observer of the Election Commission of India is IAS officer KD Kunjan, the Police Observer is IPS officer Manoj Kumar, while the Expenditure Observer is IDAS Rejoy Krishna. There are 19 election cells. Similarly, the election team formed includes 68 sector officers and five FST teams, which are active since April 18.

 

Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman said that out of the total 428 polling stations in the district, hypersensitive, sensitive and other general polling stations have been identified. Additional police force has been called in to conduct peaceful and fear-free elections. If any information related to the Model Code of Conduct is received, action will be taken on it. Special attention is also being kept on Naxal activities. He said that the process of depositing all the licensed arms in the district is going on. About 80 percent of the arms have been collected. However, the process of filing bonds under section 107 is being completed against all the people who may affect the election work.
