Jharkhand BJP president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has written a letter to Chief Minister Champai Soren demanding a CBI probe in connection with recovery Rs 35 crore and secret letter from the house of rural development minister Alamgir Alam’s PS Sanjeev Lal household helper Jahangir Alam house. Marandi through his letter has raised the issue that a copy of the confidential letter written by the ED regional office to the Chief Secretary has been found from the house of the employee of the private secretary of Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. He said that it is a serious matter how a confidential letter has been found from the residence of the private secretary's employee and demanded an investigation.
Marandi raising the issue questioned how did this confidential letter reach the residence of the private secretary of the Minister, which official played a role in it, it is necessary to conduct an investigation and also on the cognizance of this letter, action was to be taken against the corrupt, were they saved, who all were involved in this conspiracy? Is there a role? The people of Jharkhand have the right to know this.
Marandi has demanded registration of FIR on this serious matter without any delay and hand over the entire matter to the C.B.I. We will recommend you to get an investigation done by the CBI, otherwise it will be considered that you remained silent in this serious matter of corruption and kept watching all this mischief. The people of Jharkhand will also ask you this question. On Monday, a raid was conducted in the residence of Jahangir, assistant to PS Sanjeev Lal of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. During the raid, ED seized a total cash amount of Rs 35 crore. The seizure of such a huge amount of cash from an assistant has become a topic of discussion in the entire country. During the day-long raid on Monday, the ED found a confidential letter from the Enforcement Directorate. This letter was written by ED to the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand on 8 May 2023.
The Chief Secretary had sent this letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development the next day on 9 May 2023 and asked him to take action. Babulal Marandi alleges that the Rural Development Ministry did not get it investigated. This letter was recovered along with a bundle of notes during the ED action. Regarding this, Babulal Marandi wrote a letter to CM Champai Soren demanding a CBI inquiry. Babulal Marandi says that it is a very serious matter that how a confidential letter was recovered from the house of a PS servant and that too along with a bundle of notes.
