BJD Athamallik Ramesh Chandra Sai on Thursday resigned from primary membership of the ruling party. He sent his resignation letter to BJD president Naveen Patnaik.
In his resignation letter, Sai said that he was elected in 2019 with the BJD ticket by a record margin of more than 47,000 votes. He was in the party for the last five years and had the opportunity to work with the BJD supremo.
“For personal reasons, I am unable to continue in the party and hence resigning,” he stated.
Notably, the BJD announced its second list of candidates for the elections 2024 on Wednesday.
