Congress candidate Anupma Singh on Thursday tried to garner support from the lawyers community as part of her election campaign here in Dhanbad and assured to raise voice for Advocates Protection Act if elected.
She reached Dhanbad Bar Association premises along with senior advocate and former congress district president BP Singh and visited almost each and every table of advocates on either side of the court road and sought support for herself. She also met senior advocates too in person.
Talking to the media later she said, advocates have raised their voice for implementation of the Advocate Protection Act. If elected would certainly raise voice in Parliament for implementation of this act. Besides, I would try to root out basic problems faced by advocates here in association.
Welcoming the Congress nominee Dhanbad Bar Association president AK Sahay said that Anupma is first candidate contesting 2024 Lok Sabha who reached Bar and tried to get problems faced by advocstes. We,too have raised issues of advocate protection as it directly relates to the central government, he said.
Several senior members of the Bar were present while she addressed media persons in the Bar association hall.
