Doon School becomes first Indian school to start IAYP online

The famous Doon School in the Doon valley has become the first school in India to start the online programme of IAYP. The Doon School became the Online Record Centre on July 31 and today, 52 students registered online for the Award.

The International Award for Young People (IAYP), popularly known as The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award across the world, is one of the most prestigious youth programme in the world. This Award scheme is for the young people in the age group of 14 to 25.

This Award is presented in 144 countries across the world. More than 8 million young people have been benefitted from this Award. This Award was started in 1956 in the UK and spread all over the world. It was introduced in India in 1962.

The Doon School has been associated with this Award from the time it came to India. Doon School  has been one of the leading associate of the Award in India. Many of the students of the school have been receiving l Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of IAYP every year since 1962.

Today, The Doon School became the first school in India to go online with the IAYP programme. The first batch of 52 students (21 in Bronze level, 23 in Silver level and 8 in Gold level) registered for the Online Record Book.

Now, students can complete their Award journey by making required entries online. This will help smooth transaction of the Award among students and teachers. Vinay Pande, Senior Deputy Headmaster at The Doon School, was the guest of honour for the event. Priyank Gupta, Head IT and ORB for IAYP India, was also present on the occasion.
