Tere Sheher Mein, story of a not-so-common girl

Tuesday, 24 February 2015 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Tere Sheher Mein is an entirely different story of a ‘not-so- common girl’, who strive her best to survive in a small town coming from a metro,” says Rajan Shahi, a noted television producer. Star Plus is set to launch a new show Tere Sheher Mein narrating a different story.

Tere Sheher Mein is the story of the rich and affluent Mathurs, Rishi (Sachin Tyagi), Sneha (Gautami Kapoor) and their three daughters Rachita (Anjum Fakih), Amaya (Hiba Nawab) and Jasmine (Isha Mishra). A part of a close knit family, Amaya shares a special bond with her father, Rishi Mathur, who calls him her ‘Superman’. She doesn’t have to struggle for anything that she ever wants and that is a point of concern for her mother, Sneha Mathur. Amaya comes face to face with an unexpected challenge and her life takes a 360 degree turn.

She is forced to move from a comfortable life in Mumbai to Benaras and thus begins her journey of her coming of age from a pampered girl to becoming the support system for her family. Rajan Shahi, Producer, says, “I am extremely happy and proud to be working with the No 1 platform, Star Plus, once again and hope that this fruitful association goes a long way ahead. Tere Sheher Mein show has been shot on a grand scale across locations in Paris, Benaras and Mumbai and has been directed by Oscar nominated director Gyan Correa, who brings an altogether new approach and perspective to the show. The ensemble cast of Gautami Kapoor, Sachin Tyagi and Hiba Nawab bring out the essence of the characters.”

lead actress Hiba Nawab about her character states, “She is free spirited, fun, fashion diva, a shopaholic, determined and most of all has a heart of gold. My character is Amaya Mathur, the new age girl who has been born in the lap of luxury, has had every dream fulfilled and never faced a tough situation in life. But here she does. This role is ofcourse very challenging for me as I have to portray two different reactions at the same time being myself.”

The show will be aired from March 2 at 10 pm replacing Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Everest.
