lt Gen DR Soni, VSM, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC made his maiden visit to the Army War College on Saturday, shortly after assuming the office of the Army Commander on September 17, 2016.
During the visit, the General Officer was briefed on important training and administrative aspects, by the college Commandant, lt Gen Rajeev Tewari, AVSM. lt Gen DR Soni, VSM, GOC-in-C ARRAC is an alumnus of NDA Khadakwasla and IMA, Dehradun and was commissioned into the Central India Horse in Jun 1979. He has command the prestigious, 1 Armourd Division as part of Strike Formation on the Western Front, and was GOC, 10 Corps before taking over as GOC-in-C ARTRAC. He has also served with the United Nations as a Military Observer in Iraq and Kuwait, and hold a Master Degree in Global Security from the Defense College of Management and Technology, Shrivenham UK under Cranfield University.
Meanwhile, lt Gen DR, Soni, VSM, Army Commander, ARTRAC carried out the Annual Training Inspection of MCTE on 08 Oct 2016. The Army Commander was briefed on all aspects of training initiatives being undertaken at MCTE. He interacted with the staff and students and was shown the state of the art training infrastructure and laboratories.
He showed keen interest in innovative technical projects which have great use for the Indian Army. He appreciated the progress made by MCTE in the Information and Communication Technology field.
