Jitendra Mishra elected CIFEJ Board Director

Jitendra Mishra was elected as a Board Director for the 62-year-old world’s biggest children and youth media network CIFEJ (International Centre of Films for Children and Young People).

Members from more than 40 countries participated in the voting procedure to choose an eight-member Board of Directors, including the president.

Established in 1955 under the auspices of UNESCO , CIFEJ is active as the only global network of audio-visual media professionals working for children and young people. CIFEJ’s main goal has been to promote production of films and audio-visual media that are culturally diverse, artistic, educational, informative, and at the same time entertaining.

Mishra is one of the few Indian film producers and promoters who have been able to create a benchmark in alternative method of film production, distribution and promotion at international level. He has already been associated with the production, distribution and promotion of more than 110 films in all categories. Many of them have got worldwide acclamation and recognition. He has been invited as Jury and panelist to many international films festival and forums. He has also been member of the prestigious Cannes Producers Network for many years.

The other directors on the board elected are Dragan Milinkovic from Serbia, Ema Pendiuc from Romania, Josep Arbiol from Spain, Selven Naidu from Mauritius, Vassilis Karamitsanis from Greece,  Volodymyr Diagilev from Ukrain and Dr Shravan Kumar, CEO of Children’s Film Society India as the president who is the first Indian to be elected to the position.
