Padma Shri Prof Subrata Kumar Acharya, Pro-Chancellor, KIIT University and overall in-charge of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), has been nominated as President of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar by the Government of India.
Dr Acharya was associated with the AIIMS, New Delhi rendering service for last 40 years. After retirement, he joined as Pro-Chancellor of KIIT two years ago.
KIIT & KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta expressed happiness over Dr Acharya’s nomination as President, AIIMS-BBS and congratulated him.
Dr Acharya is a renowned gastroenterology and hepatology specialist.
He was honoured with Padma Shri for his remarkable contribution in the field of medicine.
Reacting to the development, Dr Acharya said he would remain as KIIT Pro-Chancellor and overall in-charge of KIMS along with his new assignment.
