Annual AWWA week to be held from August 17

Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), the largest NGO of our Nation organised the Annual AWWA Week from August 17 to 23 at Bhopal Military Station under the stewardship of Nidhi Dimri, Zonal President, with fanfare and enthusiasm. 2019 has been designated as the ‘Year of the Next of Kin’.

The week long events included Health Run, Medical Checkups, Awareness Lectures, Tree Plantation and various Competitions to mark the occasion.

The children thronged in large numbers for the ‘Painting Competition’ in senior and junior categories on August 17 and delivered eloquent speeches during the ‘Elocution and Extempore Competition’ on August 18.

August 19 was marked by a display of beautiful crafts created by the families.

A ‘Debate Competition’ was organised for ladies on August 20 which witnessed excellent oratory skills of the participants.

Prizes were awarded to the winners in ladies and children category by the Zonal President AWWA.

A closing ceremony was organised on 23 rd August during which Nidhi Dimri felicitated Veer Matas, Veer Naris and other deserving members of the organisation. Nidhi Dimri expressed her confidence that AWWA’s motto of ‘Asha Wishwas Aastha’ will motivate all members of Sudarshan Chakra AWWA fraternity to commit themselves to the genuine welfare and empowerment of the Army families.
