Chhattisgarh High Court to get new chief justice today

Chhattisgarh Governor Anandiben Patel will administer oath of office to newly appointed Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice P. R. Ramachandra Menon in a function at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhawan on May 6 at 11.00 am.

The President of India has appointed Kerala High Court Judge Justice Menon as Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court.

The office of Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court had fallen vacant recently, after the resignation of Justice A K Tripathi, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court. He was made the Member of Lokpal.

Justice Menon is the senior most judge from Kerala High Court and has been functioning there since his elevation as Judge.

Having completed his law degree from Government Law College, Ernakulam, Justice Menon was enrolled on January 8, 1983. He was sworn-in as Additional Judge of High Court of Kerala on January 5, 2009. He was then appointed as Permanent Judge of High Court of Kerala from December 15, 2010.
