Saturday, 30 March 2019 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The much-awaited ‘Biju Babu’, Nila Madhab Panda’s first Odia feature film, was released on Friday amidst a lot of fanfare.

Grand premiers were held at the Brundavan Talkies, Cuttack and Cinepolis, Bhubaneswar, apart from releasing all over Odisha. Reportedly, ‘Biju Babu’ has already created a record of sorts by its release in over 90 theatres across Odisha.

Going by the initial feedback from those who managed to catch the first shows for Biju Babu, theatres appear to be going fully packed, and the film is proving to be an out and out action-comedy-thriller as was indicated by Nila Madhab earlier. Nila Madhab said, “Today, March 29 is a truly memorable day in my life. I’m presenting my first Odia feature film inspired by the words of legendary Biju Babu. It’s meant to fight the new drugs in our society called fake news that is deeply impacting our society today. I hope the film serves its purpose well in this regard. Today, we, the Biju Babu Team, also dedicate the song ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ from my

film ‘Biju Babu’ to Odisha and its people.”

Alongside a strong message and story line, the film appears to be packed with solid doses of romance, comedy, music, dance and thrills.

It's bound to enthral audiences with its soothing songs composed by renowned music director Prem Anand. The lead actors in the film are Superstar Anubhav Mohanty and Supriya Nayak. The debutante director duo Devi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya, are also as excited with the release.
