Poetry independent of geographical quotient: Naik

At this juncture of modernity, when the world has found itself on the periphery of an emotional hullabaloo; it becomes imperative to find solace in one’s own life. Poet Vihang Ashokbhai Naik attempts to express these emotions through his poetry. A retired associated professor, Naik entered the Limca Book of Records for his debut poetry collection—City Times and Other Poems. Writing in English and Gujarati, his poems have been widely read and recognised at various forums. Being an avid translator himself, he has translated his work into Gujarati and English and got his works translated into various languages.

He was recently awarded for Best Poetry in KLF 2019 for his poetry collection- Making A Poem which was earlier published back in 2004. The works of Naik which have deciphered those dynamics have received wide recognition in the recent times as he has been awarded Indi Reader Best Book in 2015, Beverly Hills Book Awards in 2016 and BookExcellence Award in 2017 apart from getting published in various literary journals of international repute.
