Police deem Anganwadi protest as illegal

Saturday, 21 December 2019 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The ongoing traffic near Dilaram Chowk towards CM residence was largely affected by protest held by Anganwadi workers on Friday. During the protest when the protesters were stopped near Hathibadkala Chowki by the police the traffic situation there was badly affected. Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said that the action is illegal and they will be dealing with it accordingly.  As the protesters were largely women and they kept protesting till late evening, SSP Joshi also ordered the officials concerned to ensure that if any woman cannot find secure medium of transportation then she be sent through Government vehicles. He emphasised that the security of women is priority for police.
