In a landmark decision, the Uttar Pradesh government announced that all the Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga, and Naturopathy colleges in the state would be affiliated to ‘Uttar Pradesh Ayush University at Gorakhpur from next year.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to make this proposed new university in Gorakhpur functional from 2021.
The chief minister said that the foundation stone of the university would be laid in the second fortnight of January 2021.
“All the pre-foundation procedures should be completed without delay so that construction can start immediately,†he said on Friday.
Directing officials concerned to construct various buildings of the university on a priority basis, the chief minister said the construction work should be carried out in such a way that affiliation of colleges and other administrative work in Ayush University could start from 2021-22.
The CM Office on Thursday took to Twitter and posted that the timeline to start teaching session is from 2022-23.
A budget of Rs 29,987.83 lakh has been earmarked by the Public Works Department for the construction (which will be done on EPC mode) of the State Ayush University.
According to the fixed timeline, the construction of the administrative building, information and evaluation centre, hospital building, and residential block of the university will be completed by December 2021. The construction of the academic block and hostel will be completed by June 2022. Guest house, auditorium and other structures are scheduled to be constructed in the third phase.
A hospital will also be constructed for treatment by these AYUSH methods. Once the university becomes operational, all the Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga, and Naturopathy colleges of the state will be affiliated with it.
“The new university will follow the guidelines of the Central Council of Indian Medicine, regarding the establishment of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy educational institutions in the University,†the official said.
