Saturday, 16 January 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The Chhattisgarh government is planning to present a child centric budget for the state budget 2021-22. Very soon, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will hold a special meeting to finalize it, a government official said.

Ajay Singh, Deputy Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Planning Commission, said the state Planning Commission is working on the structure of the budget.

In a week or two, a joint meeting with the Finance department will be chaired by Baghel, he said.

This will be the fourth special budget presented by the Chhattisgarh government in the Assembly. In 2013, the BJP government had presented an Agriculture Budget, in 2015 a Youth Budget and in 2019 a gender specific budget was presented.

Chhattisgarh UNICEF Chief Field Officer (CFO) Job Zachariah said this will surely lead to improvement of the development indicators related to children. "UNICEF India is proud to be part of the process," he said.
