Hundreds of Congress activists from district Congress and its frontal organisations held demonstrations at Randhir Verma Square on Wednesday and burnt effigy of Prime minister Narendra Modi to protest the government policies.
The Congress activists assembled near old Congress Bhawan and marched through the LC road to hold demonstrations.
District president Brajendar Prasad Singh, who led the demonstrations said that the policies of the union government has led to rise in prices and now Mustard oil prices are making people cry as prices have crossed Rs 150 for a litre.Similarly , petrol has crossed Rs 85/litres mark.
The government is pickpocketing from the common mass.,said Singh. Former minister Mannan Mallik criticised the government for its adamant attitude in farm laws and demanded immediate steps to withdraw it. Several senior leaders of the party district committee were present during the program.
