Indore collector orders closure of Medanta hospital pharma shop

Indore collector Manish Singh ordered the closure of drug shop of Medanta super specialty hospital Indore as the Medanta hospital was not providing any information to the CMHO, Indore for the last three months.

Indore administration, at the same time, has received many complaints about the poor treatment in Medanta hospital and the demand of huge money for treatment. A number of deaths were reported from the hospital during the Covid pandemic, though deaths were reported from everywhere, but people have had been highly dissatisfied with the treatment of Medanta hospital.  Also, the Indore administration has been informed that there is no ICU in-charge in the hospital.

Collector Manish Singh while addressing the doctors of all the private hospitals of Indore clearly instructed to the Medanta super specialty hospital that if they don't provide information to the CMHO and don't improve their administrative and health care facilities and treatment, the entire hospital will be shut down. People are annoyed with Medanta hospital, and  feedback from various sectors of Indore reveals that the Medanta super specialty hospital is overcharging its patients against poor health care facilities.

Collector Manish Singh said that Medanta super specialty hospital is a ranking hospital and it is open in Indore to provide top health care facilities, care and treatment to the people but things are not going well, hospital is in limelight for giving ill-treatment and overcharging its patients.

He added that he had ordered an enquiry in an overcharging case, but the doctors of Medanta did not pay heed to the enquiry. The hospital administration has not given any information to the CMHO regarding the enquiry for the last three months. And if the hospital does not give information in next few days, a  magisterial inquiry against the Medanta Superspecialty Hospital will be ordered and warrant will be issued under CRPC.
