DAV Alumni honoured by Yuva Sahitya Akademi Award

There is a celebration in the entire school as Mihir Vatsa, an alumnus of DAV Public School, received the Yuva Sahitya Akademi Award for his travelogue 'Tales of Hazaribagh'.  The School Principal  Shri Ashok Kumar, congratulating Mihir Vats and his parents over phone said that Mihir has brought laurels to the entire Jharkhand including the DAV Institute.

It is a matter of great pride that Mihir Vats' book 'Tales of Hazaribagh' has been awarded the Yuva Sahitya Akademi Award. This book has brought the city of Hazaribagh to a national level.  The School Principal Ashok Kumar said that Mihir had become famous as a poet since his student life. Mihir Vats, who earned his education from primary education to higher secondary level at DAV, himself admits that his inclination towards English poems started from school life.

His enthusiasm grew due to his continuous participation in English poetry reading and English drama competitions and getting rewarded. School's English teachers Sampa Srivastava and Kiran Mishra encouraged him a lot. After being published in the school magazine Kshitij, he continued to be published in various magazines of the country and abroad and was rewarded. He gained a lot of fame with his poetry collection 'Painting that Red Circle Right'. In the composition 'Tales of Hazaribagh', where he has engraved the splendid natural beauty of the district, many bright colors of the district culture of Chotanagpur have emerged in this composition.

The principal said that Mihir Vats has a deep attachment to the school from the beginning. Even after passing out from school, Mihir has been attending the English writing workshop organized in the school as a resource person. Mihir Vats is currently pursuing his PhD in Delhi. JK Kapoor President, JP Shoor Director, Dr. Urmila Singh ARO Jharkhand Zone D, Manoj Mishra Manager, Dinesh Khandelwal Vice- President and all the members of the Local Management Committee congratulated Mihir Vats on this stupendous success.
