Technology changing combat dynamics globally- Lt Gen Bhinder

The General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in C) of South Western Command Lieutenant General, Amardeep Singh Bhinder has said that the dynamics of combat is changing rapidly with technology playing a major role. The General who was the reviewing officer (RO) at the Passing out Parade (PoP) at Indian Military Academy (IMA) here on Saturday said that the modern day military leaders must embrace this technological drift and understand the seamless synergy required between men and machines. 

Exhorting the GCs to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation, he said that the country is facing challenges at both the regional and global level. Lt Gen Bhinder emphasised that physical and mental toughness alone are not enough to tackle modem day threats of the country, but as military leaders, officers will have to develop a strategic mindset, cultivate an adaptive temperament and acquire the mental resilience essential to hone the skills for military leadership.

He also complimented the Foreign Gentleman Cadets and said "I would like to compliment all the 89 Gentleman Cadets from various friendly foreign Countries who have come to India and successfully completed their training at IMA, Dehradun. I am sure, you as ambassadors of your country will carry back a treasure trove of good memories of the place and training with you which you can cherish for a lifetime. The training imparted by the Indian Military Academy will be bedrock for your growth both professionally and personally and will strengthen the friendly ties between all our armies.’’

The RO also presented awards to the GCs excelling in various fields. The prestigious Sword of honour was presented to the GC Mausam Vats. 

The Gold medal for standing First in order of merit in Regular course was presented to Neeraj Singh Papola while the Silver medal in Regular course was bestowed on Mausam Vats.  The Bronze medal for GC standing third in merit from the regular course was presented to Ketan Patiyal and the Silver medal for GC first in order of merit in Technical Graduate Course (TGC) was presented to Digaant Garg.  Tenzin Namgay of Bhutan was given the Silver medal for being the best Foreign Gentlemen Cadet (FGC) of the POC.  The Chief of Army Staff banner was handed over to the Sangro Company for standing first among 16 companies of academy in the Spring term 2022.
