Youth kills stepmother over property dispute

Saturday, 25 November 2023 | Pioneer News Service | prayagraj

A youth allegedly killed his step mother in Kaushambi district over some property dispute. He made no attempt to escape from the spot and surrendered.

Reports said that Rajendra Prasad of Uchawanaseerpur, Sandeepanghat Kotwali had a son Dhirendra from his first wife. After the death of his wife, Rajendra married Saroja. Rajendra had no issue from Saroja.  When Rajendra died, Saroja went to another person.

On Thursday Saroja arrived and asked Dhirendra to sell a property. Dhirendra objected to it and an altercation took place them. In a fit of anger Dhirandra attacked his stepmother with the handle of an axe and later hammered her head with a brick. He then sat by the side of Saroja’s body. There was no member in the family to lodge an FIR against Dhirendra, so an application was taken from the village watchman by the police to initiate action.
